RMOO is a MOO client for Emacs, a powerful, extensible text editor used mostly on Unix-like systems. In addition to the basic functionality you would expect in a MOO client, RMOO includes more powerful features, such as the ability to edit MOO text, mail, and code in separate Emacs buffers. In addition, newer versions of RMOO support the Emacspeak audio desktop, thus enabling blind people who use Emacspeak to use a MOO more easily.
RMOO was originally developed by Ron Tapia <tapia@nmia.com>. However, since he has stopped work on the project -- the last release was in 1994 -- I have taken up the project. My primary contribution to this software so far has been the support for Emacspeak, though I may do more in the future.
The original RMOO, released by Ron Tapia in 1994, is still available.
The current version of RMOO is version 1.1, which was released on October 18, 2000. RMOO 1.1 is a minor release.
You can download the RMOO source package, the binary RPM package (for Red Hat Linux and compatible systems), or the source RPM package (most useful if you want to rebuild the binary package, possibly with your own modifications).
The RMOO documentation is available online.
